Staffing Changes

Staffing Changes

This Tuesday, the leadership of Christian  Education and the church staff received a letter from our beloved Christian Education Director. Devon expressed to the congregation that given the current needs of her family and desire to be near her husband as he faces a difficult health diagnosis, she needs to resign from her position. We have known that this might be necessary for her and have wanted to be as supportive as possible in both her life and her ministry with the church.

Not enough time has passed for a plan to be in place. Devon’s last Sunday with the church will be the 23rd of October. Pastor Stacey plans to engage in question-asking and listening to our families with children and Christian Education will be meeting in the coming week. Pastor Stacey hopes to help us identify both a short-term plan for when Devon’s time as a staff member comes to a close and a long-term vision for ministry with children and youth in our community.

Devon is a beloved member of this church. Our love and prayers surround her and her family. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for her and to her for sharing her gentle,   patient, fun, and dedicated spirit with us. Our care for her and her family will continue beyond her last Sunday on staff.
