Missions Ministries

Our church believes in helping others through various missions, mostly through the Christian Outreach Committee and through the Women’s Fellowship Group.

The power of love and caring can change the world.

Christian outreach committee

Through the Christian Outreach Committee, our church is able to reach out to our neighboring communities and the world to provide assistance in times of need.

The mission of the Christian Outreach Committee is to spread Christ’s compassion out to our neighboring communities and the world’s citizens by partnering with charitable organizations to provide aid and assistance to those in need.

The committee hosts Sunday morning coffee hours as well as distributing special offering envelopes, which provide the congregation with the opportunity to contribute to those in need.  Through their generosity assistance is given to organizations like One Great Hour of Sharing, Neighbors in Need, Veterans of the Cross and Disaster relief.

During the Advent Season, we decorate a Giving Tree where members of the congregation select tags from this tree and bring wrapped gifts to be donated to HOPE for Kids in area towns.   Members also decorate a tree with warm mittens, hats, and scarves that are donated to local families.

The Westminster Food Pantry is a very important part of our local support.  This is supported through monies collected at Sunday coffee hours and a collection of food throughout the year.

Women’s Fellowship

The Women’s Fellowship invites all women of the church to their meetings. Our evening meetings provide opportunities to conduct business as well as enjoy each other’s company and have a good time. Most meetings consist of a short business meeting followed by a program and refreshments.

The Fellowship makes annual donations to a variety of charities, local and far away. These include

  • You, Inc.
  • Cottage Hill Academy (formerly The Protestant Youth Center)
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Our Father’s House
  • UCC Central Association Scholarship Fund
  • Crotched Mountain
  • HOPE, Inc

We also sponsor a Native American child through the Christian Children’s Fund. Traditionally, the Fellowship has helped support the church in general and the kitchen by purchasing supplies as well as major appliances.

The Fellowship welcomes help with their two annual fundraising events –the Holly Berry Fair, and our spring vendor/craft fair. We appreciate any donations of your time, baked goods, sale items, or other
