Church Regathering: Phase 2

Church Regathering: Phase 2

The second phase of our Church Regathering plan is still scheduled to begin on the Sunday of September 12, 2021. The Phase 1 “Open Air Worship” services were conducted as planned during the month of June. But as New Englanders know, one thing that cannot be planned for is the weather. One of the wettest July’s on record made it necessary to move worship into the sanctuary on four consecutive Sundays. Depending on what the weather is like for the remainder of the Summer, the plan will continue to consist of Open Air worship whenever possible and indoor worship when the weather does not cooperate.
The complete return to in-person, indoor worship will commence on Sunday, September 12, at the regular time of 9:30 AM. Those services will be recorded and made available on-line, as the Summer services have been. For those who prefer to continue to participate in worship from the safety or convenience of your home, the recorded services will be posted on the FCCW Facebook page on Sunday afternoons, once they have been edited and uploaded.
Jesus’ Great Commandment to “love one another as I have loved you” will continue to serve as our guide as our regathering unfolds. Respect for the concerns of others and sensitivity to the well-being of those who may be vulnerable or at higher risk of becoming infected, will be our common objective. Worshipers will not be excluded on the basis of their vaccination status. Masking will not be required but will still be encouraged, especially for those who may be unvaccinated or immune compromised.  Common sense distancing will be recommended.
The COVID Response Team will continue to meet and monitor developments with virus related trends and responses—particularly where the Delta variant is concerned.
