
The last Town Benefit Day on Academy Hill was
held in 2019. The 2020 and 2021 events were
canceled due to the pandemic.
As a form of Christian outreach within our local
community, our Church was asked if we would like
to participate in the Town Benefit Day events by
supporting a Strawberry Shortcake Booth, similar
to what we had at the old Yankee Street Fair
events.
This year’s event runs from 11:00 AM until 5:00
PM on Sunday, August 14th. In the past, the
strawberries, biscuits, and whipped cream were
provided by a generous Church member as well as
a local restaurant with the bowls, spoons and
napkins provided by the Town Benefit Committee.
The Church participation is mostly providing labor
for six hours maximum (typically broken into 2
hour shifts). The muscles used most are facial with
smiles and laughter throughout!
Please consider volunteering. It is a wonderful day
of good fun and sharing our presence with the
wider community. Join up with a friend and spend
some quality time together.
