Good Friday (March 30) features a unique contemplative experience of the meaning of the Crucifixion.
The sanctuary will be open from noon to 6 PM. As you enter the church you may pick up a stone from the bowl, which can represent some burden or sin that you want to let go of. A series of “stations,” each with a reflection of one of Jesus seven last statements from the cross, will lead you forward through the sanctuary to a large wooden cross in the chancel. There you may leave your stone at the foot of the cross.
This church is blessed to have its own Labyrinth, which will be set up in Covenant Hall on Good Friday. All are welcome to walk the Labyrinth as another form of prayer and meditation, instead of, or in addition to, the contemplative worship experience in the sanctuary.
