The Christian Outreach Committee is beginning to think about the holiday season and the mittens in past years we have hung on The Giving Tree in the Narthex. There will be no tree this year as you enter the church, but that doesn’t take away the feelings we have for giving to others. This year we have decided to give to the Orchard Street program in Leominster.
Orchard Street is a family residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive recovery community that promotes a sense of empowerment, family healing, and life skills essential for women and their children to stabilize and lead drug free, productive lives. The program supports and strengthens the family unit and allows parents to function as effective, self-reliant caretakers for their children while enjoying productive and drug-free lives.
We know that the actual shopping for the items that are on the children’s wish list may be tricky and we want to be respectful to the individuals who may also be trying to stay out of the stores. To that end the Outreach Committee will take the gift cards and use them to purchase all the gifts on the lists.
We are asking that if you choose to help please purchase gift cards from Target or Walmart in the amounts of $20.00. Put them in an envelope labeled The Giving Tree and drop them off at the church or mail them. We would like them by November 22, 2020 so the shopping can be done.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity,
The Christian Outreach Committee
